I went to a Galentine’s Day party on Sunday and the hostess gave us these cute sheets of paper to write love letters to ourselves. I finally wrote mine today and I wanted to share it.
Dear Esther,
I love you.
I will always love you.
I will love you when you’re happy and when you’re sad. I will love your funk both physical and mental and I will love you during your heightened moments. When you’re feeling sexy, I will admire and appreciate you. Even when your self-esteem and confidence takes a hit or when you feel like dressing up. When you’re breath and ass stinks like hell, I will still and always see your beauty.
There is so much to love about you. You’re empathetic, open-minded, thoughtful, kind, emotional and sensitive. I love that about you. You have great intuition and you are in tune with who you are. You are independent, career-oriented and a straight up womanist. I love that you value staying true to yourself and beliefs even when people and society don’t understand.
It’s hard to be that only woman who doesn’t dream of the fairy tale wedding or is quite content with her last name. It’s difficult to share uncertain feelings of having children with the man you love. But you do it anyway because not being honest costs you your authenticity. And that’s why I love you so much.
You are my forever love.
Love,
Esther Yvette
I encourage you to write a love letter to yourself. Hope had and will continue to have a great Valentine’s Day weekend!
Beautiful!
