It’s March! For some reason, as I grow older, I notice that the years go by faster and faster. I remember when I was younger, older folks(they were only in their 20’s and 30’s but my 8 year old self thought that was ancient) used to say, “time flies!”. I never used to understand them because for me I’d been 8 for a very long time.
Now, I get it. Time really does fly. I’m already halfway done with my spring semester class and quarter of 2015 is already gone. I’ll be 27 in 3 months!!!!
Thinking of time can be very daunting, especially, as we notice that we are only getting older and many of our dreams or goals still haven’t been actualized.
Time has passed yet we still haven’t got that promotion
Time has passed yet we still haven’t gotten married.
Time has passed yet we still haven’t found that dream job.
Time has passed yet we’re still living with parents.
Time has passed yet we’re still unhappy.
Passing time can trigger depression and self pity. However, I think time is wonderful. If you think of it. It’s actually a portion of your life.
It makes me realize how very precious every day, every hour, every minute, and every second is. Therefore time helps me prioritize my values. What should I spend my time(life) doing? How much time(of my life) should I spend with my loved ones? How much time(of my life) should I spend on my iphone? How much time(of my life) should I spend improving myself and reaching my goals?
Time puts your life into perspective. I really need to do my best to make the most of it and cherish it. I can’t afford to waste it.
At the moment, I’m thankful for time.
