I woke up feeling free. I’ve been making some important decisions in my life and I felt as though invisible chains of distress were breaking all over my body. The feeling was so liberating that I decided to play a popular gospel song, entitled “Freedom” by Eddie James.
As I danced and clapped to the beat of the song, I took on a new meaning to the lyrics.
When the choir started singing, “I wanna clap a little louder than before”, I thought; yeah, I do!
The choir joyfully sings the following lyrics:
“I wanna sing a little louder higher than before
I wanna jump higher than before
I wanna shout a little louder than before
I wanna lift my hands higher than before
I wanna love you more than before
I wanna worship deeper than before
I’ve gotta scream louder.”
Hell yeah!
I do want to sing, clap and shout louder. I do want to jump and lift higher! I do want to love more. I do want to worship deeper!
Why not? As the chorus goes, I have “freedom”!
Nothing is stopping me from doing this. I have no restraints.
“No more shackles, no more chains,
No more bondage I am free”
Freedom is the power to act, speak or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. It is the state of not being imprisoned; it is the power of self-determination attributed to the will, the quality of being independent of fate or necessity. It is living a life of openness.
Have freedom! Even if it’s for a moment!
Free yourself from the bondage of worry. Free yourself from the chains of addiction. Release yourself from the prison of doubt. Deliver yourself from the bondage of pain and sorrow. Liberate yourself from low self- esteem. Emancipate yourself from mental anguish. Loose yourself from useless relationships. Break yourself from the chains of addiction.
Free Yourself.
Open Yourself to Life.
Free yourself to God.
No more shackles. No more chains. No more bondage. Be Free.
“Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!”
“Dance the dance of freedom!”
I hope you enjoy this song and I hope that you live a life of freedom! It’s such a wonderful gift of God.
