It hurts to know that we love each other but want different things

I’m uncertain about children and marriage

You are certain about children and marriage

This makes us uncertain about us

You believe that I will always choose me and that makes you uncomfortable.

You don’t trust my love

You believe love is a sacrifice and you believe you are more willing to sacrifice than me

I believe love allows us to be our own true selves and that I am willing to sacrifice

But at what cost?

This isn’t love to you

So you don’t feel my love

And it pains me that you don’t feel my love

Because I love you so much that it hurts
